What is Listia?:
''Listia is an online marketplace where you win other people's stuff using credits instead of money.
When you join Listia, you get 500 credits. You earn more credits every time you list an item and other users bid on it. Then you can use your credits to buy cool things other people are giving away.
The highest bidder wins, so each item goes to the person who wants it most! Getting more credits is easy, fun and most importantly, costs nothing.''
My rant: So, the other day I listed my first auction which was a cute bracelet I had bought. Now, I knew I had also saw it on a few freebie sites, but I had actually bought it with my own money. No where in the TOS does it say you can't list freebies you got, even though they weren't free in my case, people could and should still do this if they like. Then, within a few hours of posting, I got these comments. (Down Below)
1. "what ...is this a joke...???"
2. ''For starters, it's a kotex bracelet and these are still available for anyone to get for free. Flagged!''
2 ''Why would you buy it when you can get it for free?''
So, for some more background I will call them 1 and 2 for anonymity. 2 has posted repeated comments and I had to flag and hide 1's comment as this false comment could affect whether or not people bid. Now, about the flagging system. Basically you click a button and flag it for staff to take down. So I guess 1 thought something was offensive, but in my opinion the flag system is overrated and used too much. Now I will post my side.
To 1. I did see this bracelet on one free sample site, but I bought this one from an online store
To 2. Nope, the bracelet is actually pretty cute and has a strong message behind it.
One again. Because at the time I went to the site, it was down and not offering samples.....
I have since changed the little error I made in the title, so everyone won't get confused. I knew it was Kotex...
I think I defended my side well, but 1's comment sort of hurt me since this is not just a free bracelet, it shows that you want to let all women know about their body and diseases. I had it flagged and hid it. I think it was a little unnecessary for 1 to point out all the little mistakes, and to flag it and post about it on a comment like their happy about it.
I will be reaching out to their customer service dep. later today to see if something can be done. I understand that not much can be done.It seems small, but it is rude to be posting things like that on a newcomers first auction. I think that 1 should get a one week ban, and 2 should get a warning. I made a new rule for all my auctions, its pretty obvious but if you do not want the item you don't have to bid. Hopefully I will get a response and some sort of action will be taken. If @Listia is reading this, you can contact me at: cclthomas99(at)gmail.(com).
I will post back here on what responses I get, if any. I hope I used 1 and 2 anonymously, but if you two are reading this, you can contact me and I will take your side down, as I am not trying to bash anyone, just vent my frustrations.
